According to the latest Government figures, as many as one-in-six young people are out of work – that’s the highest jobless rate for 16-24 year olds since 1993. Time spent working for a charity can add value to both the charity and your CV. For many Brits looking for work and for people who have time on their hands, now could be the perfect opportunity to donate time and experience to a charity in your community.

Building on the success of the Vodafone Foundation’s World of Difference International programme, where eight people won the chance to work for a charity of their choice overseas, people can also donate themselves in the UK, from 23rd September. Tune in to find out more!

Over the next four weeks, Vodafone is giving you the power to find out how to donate yourself to charity through a series of live interactive Web TV shows. Whether you are looking for a rewarding way to boost your career prospects, or you know someone who needs some help in finding a new challenge, you can watch and even join in by asking any questions you want during the show.

All programmes go live at 2pm. We will be looking at:

  • Episode 1 [23/09/09]: Launch of Vodafone’s World of Difference programme, delivered by the Vodafone Foundation
  • Episode 2 [30/09/09]: Why working with a charity can make a difference to your career
  • Episode 3 [07/10/09]: How do you donate yourself to a charity you’re passionate about – this is how to do it
  • Episode 4 [14/10/09]: What can I do for Vodafone’s World of Difference programme?

In Episode 1 we are joined by former Hollyoaks and West End star Summer Strallen – who knows the importance of working for charity firsthand from her work with Breast Cancer Care and the PDSA. Joining Summer is Andrew Dunnett, Director of the Vodafone Foundation, who will revealing the details of the new exciting programme and how to apply.
