Are you the parent or relative of a child with autism? Perhaps you know someone who is. If so, you’ll know all about the confusion, frustration and heartache that can arise from being unable to find the right support and advice around caring for a young one with this complex and demanding condition.

Parents and families who have a child with autism can also feel very isolated from society. With a sea of conflicting information on the condition, they are often unable to share their concerns and worries with parents in a similar situation. One of the most pressing issues for parents of children with autism is finding an educational environment that will nurture them and properly serve their particular needs – yet according to new research by national autism education charity TreeHouse to coincide with the launch of its new website, education services across the UK are currently patchy and inconsistent.

To coincide with World Autism Awareness Day on April 2nd, our Web TV show with child psychologist Tanya Byron and Ian Wylie from TreeHouse will be discussing the issues involved with bringing up and educating a child with autism. They’ll be offering practical advice for parents and families who have a child with autism, whether it be finding the right school or other daily care issues. They’ll also be discussing how the new website will provide a safe, friendly community where parents and carers of children with autism can share their experiences and find vital information on autism and education

Tanya and Ian will endeavour to answer your personal questions online, so send yours in now and log in to the show for more.
