CIPR TV – In conversation with Paul Mylrea, BBC's Head of Press and Media Communications

Paul Mylrea, Head of Press and Media Communications at the BBC and CIPR President-Elect joined us in the studio for an exclusive interview for the launch of CIPR TV.

The Corporation is set for an interesting time ahead, particularly following BBC Director General Mark Thompson's 'MacTaggart Lecture' at The Edinburgh International Television Festival, where he went on the defence of the license fee and challenged Sky. In our live and interactive show, we chatted to Paul about what life is like working within Public Sector communications.

We also quizzed Paul on ‘Reputation Laundering’, which has received a lot of coverage in the mainstream press recently.

Finally, as well as covering off any topical issues of the week, such as the ASA's announcement on regulation of Social Media, we also spoke to Paul about his outlook for the CIPR as he prepares to take on the role of President and his thoughts about the PR profession in general.

Plenty of you sent questions in for Paul, and our presenters and CIPR Social Media Panel members, Philip Sheldrake and Stephen Waddington, did their best to ask them for you during the broadcast. Many of you also commented about the show on Twitter using the hashtag #ciprtv, so thank you for your input.

Enjoy the show, and be sure to join us live at 5pm on Weds 29th September, when we will be joined by Mark Borkowski, MD of Borkowski, who will talk about the differences between publicity and PR.

CIPR TV is brought to you by the CIPR’s Social Media Panel and markettiers4dc.
