We all know we should make a Will at some stage, but it’s one of those things that many of us never seem to get round to or side line because we think we might ‘tempt fate’; because there’s ‘plenty of time’ to get our affairs in order; because there’s no need to think about ‘it’ today…

But unfortunately, where there’s no will … the government will decide what happens to your estate. That’s the simple truth. And your family will be left to unravel the legal mess which could ensue in dividing your assets – no matter how large or small. Without careful Estate planning, it's much harder for people to sort out your affairs after you’re gone, making the process very stressful, costly and time consuming. And it’s not sufficient to rely on verbal promises, death bed scribbles or DIY attempts to try and make your feelings known.

So if you’re worried about the different types of wills available or confused about how or when to update them if your circumstances change for example if you remarry or have a second family, then make sure you tune in to our upcoming live and interactive legal clinic.

Specialist lawyer Emma Myers will be on hand to answer all of your questions; from the role of an executor and who to choose to do this for you, to setting up trusts or charitable legacies; and take you through the important first steps in making your Will.
